Mounting kit for a vintage Scalextric Mabuchi motor
This mounting kit allows the later more powerful Mabuchi motor to replace the vintage Scalextric Johnson 111 motor.
This vintage Scalextric motor mounting kit comprises the two black plastic mouldings shown above. This kit allows the later and more powerful Mabuchi motor to be fitted in place of the 1970s Johnson motor.
The more powerful Mabuchi motor is an absolute must if you want to upgrade the performance of your vintage Scalextric car fitted with the Johnson 111 motor.

Improving the performance of your Scalextric Johnson 111 motor

We are often asked for the best way to upgrade this motor. The simple answer is it’s not worth it. A rewind will give a little more torque but that’s about is. The best answer is to replace the Scalextric Johnson 111 motor with a modern Scalextric Mabuchi motor and use a set of motor mounting adaptor pieces to complete the motor form factor.
You can then choose from a selection of Scalextric Mabuchi motors to suit your specific needs.
